The
Mana Pools National Park, now a World Heritage Site, was threatened in the 1980s
when plans to build a dam on the Zambezi River at Mupata Gorge would have resulted
in its inundation. The Zambezi Society was formed as part of an international
publicity campaign that fought to save this beautiful Park.
