A
team of researchers fits a radio-tracking collar to a temporarily immobilised
elephant in order to provide essential data on the animal's movement patterns.
With information gathered so far, the Zambezi Society is recommending that Zambezi
communities set aside undeveloped land as corridors to allow elephants free
movement across the valley. This will help reduce the conflicts that exist between
community farmers and their elephant resource.
